The Right Drive System for Your Vacuum Truck
When it comes to designing your new vacuum truck with TSVA, you get exactly what you’re looking for. Need a particular drive system? We work with both direct and indirect drives to be able to outfit our clients’ trucks with whichever is most ideal for their particular needs.
What’s the difference between direct and indirect drives?
Direct drives are inexpensive and simple, providing adequate pumping power for fewer applications than indirect drives. With a direct drive, it’s important that it be mounted properly and securely in order for it to work as expected and in a safe manner.
Indirect drives are more costly and a bit more complex - but it can be set up to yield any motor-to-pump speed ratio, which allows it to be run at different speeds when needed. These drives are available in simple or complex drives, where simple drives find the driving pulley or gear mounted directly on the pump shaft, which creates the highest side loads, and complex drives are mounted separately - lessening the side load.
No matter your exact needs, we have the components to build the perfect vacuum truck for you and your fleet! Give us a call today to learn more about building your new vacuum truck just in time for the spring and summer.
