Let’s Talk Summer Truck Preparations!

- 4:07 pm - June 8th, 2020

With the change in season there are new challenges that truck drivers will face, and that means getting prepared for those new challenges so they don’t slow down productivity or cause costly damages. TSVA is here to help you with a few equipment maintenance tips for preparing your trucks for the summer!

  • Tires wear out quicker in hotter weather, so be sure to check treads and tire pressure regularly to avoid any tire blowouts or flats. Additionally, have your brakes inspected to ensure no issues there.

  • Cooling systems will be pivotal during the hot summer days. Be sure to maintain a proper balance of water, coolant and inhibitors. Use test strips and adjust the ratios as needed for the best protection.

  • Closely watch fluid levels throughout the season and avoid allowing mud to build up on your equipment to maximize efficiency and allow heat to escape quickly. Check air filters and batteries, as well as the air conditioning systems for your drivers’ safety!

  • Regular maintenance and standard inspections should also be followed. If you haven’t yet, bring your trucks to TSVA’s service center where we can perform a wide range of services and inspections to keep your fleet safe and up to code!

And remember, if you’re in need of a new truck we can help! We’ll work with you to design and customize a truck that completes your fleet. Contact us online for a quote.
