How Truckers Can Celebrate This Holiday Season

- 11:00 am - December 8th, 2025

The holiday season for truckers like you is probably not the same as for everyone else.

Because most truckers don’t take a break during the holidays – it’s the busiest time of the year for the trucking industry – you need to make sacrifices. If you’re a long-distance trucker, chances are, you’ll miss family gatherings and will be away from loved ones during the holidays.

There’s a silver lining, however, to this holiday trucking cloud. The holidays present the perfect opportunity to create your own traditions on the road:

  • Use video chats to greet family members, open presents, and share meals virtually.

  • Play online games with family and friends.

  • Don’t forget: telephone calls, letters, and postcards to loved ones are always welcome.

  • Send unique gifts from along your route.

  • Create a celebratory atmosphere. Bring holiday cheer into your cab by decorating your truck’s interior wall with small, safe decorations like festive lights; or exterior decorations that adhere to safety standards.

Nobody said this time of the year would be easy. But while your job presents challenges, your dedication makes the holidays possible for everyone else, and your commitment is a vital part of the season.

PS: Wherever your wheels lead you this holiday season, Truck Service of Virginia wishes you a safe, peaceful, successful journey!
